Visiting Ukraine for the first time in many years has been an eye-opening experience. Especially in a wartime country, I was lucky enough to see the places that have been devastated by Russian invaders, and how the local people managed to recover and rebuild stronger than ever. I want to thank Vitaliy for giving me this tour, his guidance and explanations were outstanding. Vitaliy drove me to the places where some of the war’s worst crimes were being committed right outside Kyiv, and showed accompanying video footage on his phone. His dedication to telling the horrifying but true story was a testament to the unbreakable will of the Ukrainian people. I highly recommend this tour for those who are interested in post-Soviet history, aspiring or current journalists, and anyone who is willing to spread and share the true stories of the horrors that are happening in the world right now. |

We visited the former occupied areas of Bucha and Moshchun, where alleged war crimes on the civilian population horrified the world. Vitalii shared: "We have the names of the bastards who committed the executions. "Over 70 per cent of the Russian army from three years ago are either dead or injured." Amoungst all the devestation in Bucha; some of it rebuilt, was a burnt-out concert hall where we stumbled upon an art show with young models juxtaposition against the destruction. I admitted to Vitalii that we had found the angelic background tune from unexpected art show to edit against his tour guide experience. It was a genuinely moving moment showing Ukraine getting on with life and culture, while refusing to forget the atrocities it's innocents suffered. |
